the cast
Jake Rake (Jake)
Straight out of the D.C. Suburbs, Jake Rake is co-creator of Ghost Toast. A contributor to The Onion and Gelf Magazine among others and the mastermind behind digital rock band Fjorn, Jake has been fired from more jobs than anyone else in the cast. He now successfully works at Cherry Tree Bar in Brooklyn, but we'll see how long that lasts. Jake once set off a firecracker in Shira's ear in an enclosed space and the two of them are currently in the midst of writing a hilarious two-person sketch comedy show that will blow your collective mind. Follow his misadventures at JakeRake.com.
Adam Hyland (Tim)
After brief stints as an Ivy League pretender and healthcare advocate, Adam Hyland has taken on the likes of Prior Walter (Angels in America), Caliban (The Tempest), and Clifford Bradshaw (Cabaret). Upon arriving to New York in 2006, Adam is proud to have brought to life such characters as Noah "Eric" Rowland in the wildly successful The Sublet Experiment, as well as Dr. Marc Blumen in Self-Portrait as Schiele at the 2008 Fringe Festival. His craft has evolved tremendously at Terry Schreiber Studios thanks to the man himself. Much, if not all, of his success can be traced to his mom and dad, from whom both patience and tenacity have allowed him to survive and enjoy this ride.
Shira Danan (Kansas)
Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, Shira Danan is co-creator of Ghost Toast. Shira's interests include being very busy all the time and complaining about various minor ailments. She is a contributor to The Onion, has interviewed comedians for Gelf Magazine and is a member of the improv group Maybe Sherman, which claims to be straight out of Baltimore, but isn't. She has also written and performed sketch comedy around town with Foxstamp Murphy and was a founding member of Columbia University's sketch comedy group, Chowdah. Many thanks to Schwartz Global Health Solutions. Shira blogs at Smoking Pancakes and What Happened to Shira Danan?
Zachary Norton (Stevemonster)
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Zachary Norton moved to New York after graduating from Vanderbilt University and began studying at the Upright Citizens Brigade and the People's Improv Theaters in the summer of 2007. He has been featured in web videos for 12 Angry Mascots, So Busted Comedy, and UCBComedy.com. He also plays many improv venues regularly with his troupe, Maybe Sherman. For his role in Ghost Toast, he wore a hat.
the crew
Will Trebach
The co-creator of Ghost Toast, along with Jake and Shira, Will Trebach brings to the table the skills supplied by finest public film education the state of Maryland has to offer. He spends his days maintaining the DC-Area food website, District Eats, and jumping off of things with his rollerblades. Will is a staunch advocate of dim sum, Donkey Kong Country and being able to recite the first five presidents of the United States in order by memory. Track his movements at Wogelife.com.
Barry Trebach
A devout and serious man, Barry Trebach observes his faith by partaking in time-honored Jewish traditions such as practicing law, eating lox and producing movies. The lone fan of the Washington Nationals, Barry lives in the D.C. area with his wife, sons and the roving band of boarders who live in the room formerly occupied by his eldest son.
Pete Saia
At 75%, the vowel rate of Pete's last name blows away the rest of the cast and crew of Ghost Toast. An accomplished web designer and video mang, Pete's work can be found on all corners of the Internet, from District Eats to the site you are reading right now. He has been to India at least once and will make your website for you if you ask nicely and pay him accordingly. For more hot Pete action, visit him at PeteSaia.com.
